Open toe or closed boot?
An open-toe binding leaves the toes free: it covers several shoe sizes (the Hale fits almost everyone) and suits the family boat where several riders share the board. A more enclosing binding, with a moulded tongue and a cushioned liner (Empire, Karma, Faction), holds the foot as closely as possible and transmits your input better: for tricks and jumps.
Choosing your size
US shoe sizes, men’s unless marked women’s. As a rough guide: US 7 ≈ EU 40, US 9 ≈ EU 42, US 11 ≈ EU 44 to 45, US 13 ≈ EU 47. A wakeboard binding should fit snugly: it gives a little when wet. Binding Slime lubricant helps you slide your foot in.
Fitting to the board
Connelly bindings attach with a plate and clamps: the Infinity clamps (metric screws) fit boards made after 2012. Replacement laces: Connelly laces. Hale, Prizme and Groove bindings from previous collections are still available as “2025 model”.
