SUP or kayak?

A SUP is ridden standing up: core work, a clear view, ideal on a calm lake early in the morning. A kayak is paddled sitting down, more stable in wind and chop, and takes a child or your gear on board more easily. The Pacific does both: a SUP with a built-in inflatable seat and backrest.

Choosing your SUP

The wider the board (33 to 34″), the more stable it is: ideal for beginners, or with a child or a dog on the front. The longer it is (11′6″ for the Tahoe), the straighter it tracks: for touring. The volume and the maximum load should leave a margin above your weight. Spare paddles and pumps in SUP; the kayak paddle in kayak.

Which inflatable SUP for a beginner?

A wide, high-volume board: the Stash (84 cm wide, 300 L) is very stable; the Drifter is the most affordable. For touring, the Tahoe (11′6″).

What is the maximum weight on a Connelly SUP?

113 kg for the Drifter, 118 kg for the Stash and the Pacific, 136 kg for the Tahoe. Leave a margin above your weight, especially with a child or gear on board.

Is the Nautic inflatable kayak for 1 or 2 people?

The Nautic 9.5 (287 cm) is a 1-seat kayak, up to 136 kg; the Nautic 11.5 (348 cm) takes 1 or 2 people, up to 272 kg.
