Why a package costs less
The package is sold at a fixed Connelly price, lower than the ski on its own plus the front binding and the rear toe plate or rear binding. The saving is largest on the Tempest double binding packages. Each package shows its price on the ski’s page.
Which package should you choose?
Front binding and rear toe plate (Swerve, Shadow and Lace, Tempest and Pivot): the back foot slides under a toe plate and comes out more easily in a fall. This is the package for starting on a slalom ski and for recreational skiing. Double bindings (Shadow, Tempest, Comp, Stoker): both feet are held, for more precision and control in slalom. The Swerve adjusts with a lace and fits almost every shoe size; the Shadow has a mid-height shell with two lacing zones; the Tempest tightens with an ATOP dial; the Stoker is the classic rubber binding. How to order a package
Open the slalom ski’s page: the “Package” block lists the ski on its own and each package with its price. Then choose the ski size, followed by the binding size. A package has its own stock: if it is not in stock, it is ordered from Connelly (“Available to order”).
What size ski?
Size is chosen from your weight: full chart on the slalom skis page. For first steps, see also the combo skis.
The Water Universe shop belongs to Motor Boat 74, a boat dealer in Saint-Jorioz on Lake Annecy: we ride what we sell, and we can advise you on +33 4 57 57 27 27. A product in stock can be collected from the shop within 24 h; the rest are ordered from the manufacturer.
Frequently asked questions
Is a slalom ski package cheaper than buying the ski and bindings separately?
Usually yes, and by a clear margin: a quarter to a third less than the ski and bindings bought separately, with the largest saving on the Tempest double binding packages. Each package’s price is shown on the ski’s page.
Rear toe plate or double bindings for a beginner?
The rear toe plate (RTP): the back foot comes out more easily in a fall, and it adjusts to most shoe sizes. Double bindings suit regular slalom skiing.
Can I change the binding size in a package?
Yes: on the ski’s page, after choosing the package, you choose the ski size, then the front binding size (and the rear toe plate or rear binding size when it comes in several sizes).
