Description
The Outlaw is the Connelly slalom ski that takes you from combo skis to slalom. Its wide tip and tail get it out of the water easily, even at moderate speed; its narrower waist under the bindings keeps it lively and playful as you start to turn.
Who is it for?
For skiers who get up easily on combo skis and want to move to a single ski, then progress in recreational slalom. Its forgiving “recreational” fibreglass flex tolerates mistakes in body position, which also makes it a good family slalom ski, shared between skiers of similar build.
What sets it apart
Connelly was one of the first to offer wide slalom skis, and the Outlaw follows the same idea: plenty of lift at both ends, a slimmer waist in the middle. Its C.A.P.T. profile and through-mounted aluminium fin keep it on line. It is ridden between 42 and 51 km/h.
Outlaw, Concept or Big Easy?
- Big Easy (67″): even more surface area, for riders over 100 kg or for starts at lower speed (39 to 45 km/h).
- Outlaw: the best starting point for most skiers.
- Concept: same speed range, wider base, wider concave tunnel and performance flex, for more precision in slalom.
Choosing your size
65″ (165 cm) up to 82 kg, 67″ (170 cm) from 82 to 95 kg, 69″ (175 cm) from 95 kg. Between two sizes, take the longer one if you are a beginner or if your boat pulls slowly.
Ski only or as a package?
The ski on its own comes without bindings, fitted with its fin. Choose one of the packages above and you get it with its bindings at a fixed price: with the Swerve binding and rear toe plate, the Outlaw costs noticeably less as a package than bought piece by piece. Add a handle, a ski bag and a buoyancy aid of at least 50 N.
Technology
The Connelly profile
Laminates: carbon or fibreglass
Performance skis use carbon for precision and explosive acceleration; recreational skis use fibreglass for a forgiving, less demanding ride. The blend of the two tunes the flex of each ski to its use.
On this modelFibreglass
A technique known since the 1960s; advances in fabrics and how they are layered now give light skis with a consistent flex that damp vibration well.
Compare with the others: Carbon 90/10, Carbon 50/50

Carbon 90/10
Carbon is very light and very responsive. 10% fibreglass damps vibration: chop is smoothed out, and the ski lasts noticeably longer.

Carbon 50/50
As much carbon as fibreglass: a fast, responsive ski with a smooth, consistent flex that does not chatter on less than perfect water.
Binding placement
It is measured from the tail of the ski to the heel of the front binding.
