Description
At 146 cm, the Big Easy is the longest board in the range and the go-to for larger riders: you get out of the water easily, ride for longer and finish the day less tired.
Who is it for?
For heavier riders, and for beginners who want an easy start.
What sets it apart
Its System 80 core in light, forgiving foam, its deep centre channel and its full-length spine make for soft landings; its mellow three-stage rocker lets you land new tricks.
Other Connelly wakeboards
- Lotus: beginner to advanced, 130 or 134 cm
- Pure: beginner to advanced, 131 to 141 cm
- Reverb: intermediate to advanced, continuous rocker
- Wild Child: intermediate to advanced, 132 or 137 cm
What else you need
- Bindings, as the board is supplied without them: see the wakeboard bindings.
- A no-stretch rope, such as the Connelly TORQ wakeboard rope and handle.
- A vest or buoyancy aid of at least 50 N, and a helmet as soon as you jump the wake.
Technology
The Connelly profile
How a board is built

- [A] Top sheet : The graphics, and a UV protection layer that makes the board last.
- [B] Fibre layers : Together with the core, this is where the ride is tuned: the weight, orientation, weave and number of fibreglass layers give the board its flex and character.
- [C] Binding reinforcement : A glass layer that strengthens the connection between the board and the bindings: your energy goes into the board without loss.
- [D] Inserts : All Connelly boards have M6 metric inserts: more threads in a small area, a more secure fixing with a shallower insert.
- [E] Core : The backbone of the board, which the fibre works against. Foam densities, inserts and materials decide how it rides for its intended use.
- [F] ABS sidewalls : On the Woodro: a very tough material that protects the edge from knocks on rails and features.
- [G] Base graphics : Beyond UV protection and graphics, the base adds strength, durability and performance.
Rocker
- On this model
Mellow three-stage rocker
The pop of a three-stage rocker and the predictability of a continuous rocker: more pronounced lift at both ends, a softened centre.
Continuous rocker
An unbroken curve from tip to tail: a smooth, fast, predictable ride, softer landings, more rocker between the feet.
Base shape
On this modelFull spine
Pushes water towards the edges to soften landings.
Compare with the others: Hybrid spine, Flat base

Hybrid spine
A flat-topped spine: the base stays mostly flat for riding features.

Flat base
Completely flat, the best on features and kickers.
Core and base
On this modelSystem 80
A forgiving low-density closed-cell foam, for all abilities.
Compare with the others: Natural Flex, Ti base

Natural Flex
Machined paulownia wood core, with no foam: 100% natural.

Ti base
Arguably the strongest and fastest base material there is, formulated for speed.
